Xiaoyang completed a bachelor’s degree in Metal Material Engineering at Southwest University, China in 2018. He completed a Master degree in Advanced Material Engineering at Monash University (2019-2021). During the master’s degree, Xiaoyang completed a summer research project on corrosion science at IFM, Deakin University and a research internship in additive manufacturing at MCAM, Monash University. Since August 2021, he has been a PhD candidate at The University of Melbourne under the supervision of Prof Dan Li and Dr Qinghua Liang. Xiaoyang’s project mainly focuses on exploring the ageing mechanisms of graphene-based electrochemical capacitors at high operating voltages.
