Saeid Nahavandi received a PhD from Durham University, U.K. in 1991. He is an Alfred Deakin Professor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Chair of Engineering, and the Director for the Institute for Intelligent Systems Research and Innovation at Deakin University.
Saeid’s research interests include modelling of complex systems, robotics and haptics. He has published more than 800 scientific papers in various international journals and conferences.
He is a Fellow of Engineers Australia (FIEAust), the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET) and a Senior Member of IEEE (SMIEEE).
Saeid is the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Systems Journal, Associate Editor of the IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics: Systems, and a member of the IEEE Access Editorial Board and IEEE Press Editorial Board.
