Queensland University of Technology
Professor Jose Alarco is a Professorial Fellow at the Institute for Future Environments (IFE), Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
He has been involved in R&D from laboratory to pilot plant scale on superconductors, battery, water treatment and other nanotechnology materials for almost three decades, both in academic and commercial organisations.
Jose has co-developed and holds numerous patents in generic processes for the manufacture of nano-scale complex metal oxides and for applications in vehicle and industrial catalysis, batteries and electronics.
He has worked collaboratively with major players in the battery industry for more than a decade. His current R&D interests are largely focused on synthesis, microstrucuture and property characterisation of battery and superconductor materials and their applications. He has more recently acquired expertise on DFT calculations, in particular, on approaches to predict physical properties associated with battery and superconductor performance.
