Azra Sourjah completed her Bachelor of Chemistry (BSc) with honours in 2017 at the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon, Sri Lanka. Following her undergraduate studies, she worked as a Quality Assurance Analyst at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals LTD in Sri Lanka. In 2020, she moved to Australia to pursue a PhD at Deakin University, under the supervision of Prof. Jenny Pringle and A/Prof. Luke O’Dell.
During her PhD, Azra focused on the development of new organic ionic plastic crystals and ionic liquids for advanced battery and energy applications. Her research involved optimizing synthesis methods for novel electrolytes and utilizing various analytical techniques for electrolyte material characterisation.
